Mom and Baby are doing great. Curtis was able to watch them pull Nathan out, and Kare (just like every time she watches A Baby Story) became teary the second she heard Nathan's cry. She also said that it was the most horrible feeling she has ever had in her life when she felt all the "not so gentle" tugging and pulling inside. But she made it and she is doing very well. She is extremely tired and having a hard time keeping herself awake at the moment, understandably. 18 hours of labor... jeez! Nathan has also had his first feeding which, I am told, went pretty well. Now Kare wants to know when SHE can eat! The nurse brought out more Ice chips, much to her dismay. Curtis says Nathan has dark blond hair and gray-ish blue eyes. He says the shape of the eye is very much from the Ashton side. (At least for now.) He said Nathan is very cute and the best Father's Day gift ever.

Well, congratulations to you both--sounds like it was quite an ordeal. We're so glad its over and Nathan is here safely and doing well. Good luck to Karalee over the next while as she heals and gets back on her feet. We'll be anxious to see pictures. . .
ReplyDeleteCongrats!! I can't wait to see pictures. Happy Father's Day!
ReplyDeleteSo exciting! And yes, especially for wusses like you and me Kare--who don't like needles and get freaked out just *thinking* about what's underneath our skin, and who have very active imaginations--a C-section is very mentally disturbing. Sometimes I wonder if what we (try not to) imagine is going on down there is worse than actually seeing it would be. Bryce said it was a small cut and he couldn't see much, while I was imagining all my internal organs splayed out on a table. Anyway, I'm so proud you got through it--you are amazing! And good luck standing straight up without hunching over when they try to make you stand up straight without hunching over. And hopefully you won't have a crazy nurse standing over you yelling at you to pee after they take the cathater out. Especially when you're already trying to. Other than that, enjoy not having to cook, and being able to send Nathan to the nursery when you need to sleep. And try to get LOTS of sleep while you can!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!! I am so glad Nathan got here safely. I hope your recovery is a quick one, Kare. Post pictures soon because I'm dying to see this little guy.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!
ReplyDeleteDo you think he's old enought to go see Transformers II, yet?
Hooray!! I can't wait to see him! Good luck with the recovery and way to be tough! :)
ReplyDeleteHold on, so this wasn't a joke? You were have been pregnant this whole time?
ReplyDeleteHey Kare, good job.
ReplyDeleteI like the pictures. Post more.
Is that a birth mark on his forehead? I wonder where he got that from?
Get some rest and rest and rest. You deserve it and you'll need it.
